It’s never a secret that Bun Bo Hue is on top of my list when talking about the best dishes in Vietnam. Rainy season has come earlier this year but all you need is a simmering soup with a delightful smell of lemongrass and red chillis.
I have never tried cooking this food. I think it is too complicated. To describe this food to you in details, I have to quote Wikipedia and if you have a better definition, feel free to send it to me😉
Bún bò Huế [ɓun˧˥ ɓɔ˧˩ hwe˧˥] or bun bo is a popular Vietnamese soup containing rice vermicelli (bún) and beef (bò). Huế is a city in central Vietnam associated with the cooking style of the former royal court. The dish is greatly admired for its balance of spicy, sour, salty and sweet flavors and the predominant flavor is that of lemon grass. Compared to phở or bún riêu, the noodles are thicker and more cylindrical.
Where do I go for a delicious Bun Bo?
It’s on a street that leads to the US Embassy. Just a stone’s throw away from Somerset, it’s beside KFC which is in the corner of Nguyen Thi Mi Khai and Mac Din Chi Streets. Opposite this place is City View building. Those are the landmarks. It is super easy to find!
